I never knew he could do this. I’m 56, and my husband is 45. He has had a year-long affair with a 21-year-old. He claims he wants kids now—he’s never had any—and that he loved rough sex with this person. I found out on June 3rd, but that wasn’t the end of it. The affair continued all summer long. She even bought him two burner phones.

When I caught him again in July getting into her car, I made him leave. He lied and said he was staying in a friend's camper, but he actually went straight to her home. He stayed there for about a week and a half and begged me daily to let him come home. Eventually, I did. He stayed in the guest room briefly and ended up back in my bed. A few weeks later, I caught him with a burner phone. He claims he was taking it out to smash it when I caught him with it. I made him leave again, and he went right back to her.

He met her when his 22-year-old employee brought her to my home for a dinner date last Fall. My husband connected with her after that, and I felt in my bones that something wasn’t right. I became very sick late December and was diagnosed with diverticulitis, which was 100% brought on from stress. His entire personality had changed, and he grew pretty hateful toward me.

In March, my mother-in-law passed away. This girl actually came to the funeral. I didn’t remember her and had no clue who she was at the time, but she was at the assisted living facility with him the night before his mother passed, while I was home taking care of our pets. To make matters worse, she faked two pregnancies with fake ultrasounds—one of which was while his mother was dying, pulling his attention right away from his family's grief.

She even made her Facebook profile picture a shot taken inside my house. He claimed that was fake too, saying it was from a picture of our dog he’d sent her and she had cropped herself into it. He’s back home now, and we are in couples therapy. Today, he told me that he still wants a child, that he misses her, but also that he loves me and likes her. We’re going on vacation tomorrow, and I honestly don't know what to do when we come back. He obviously doesn’t know what he wants. I’m thinking of getting an apartment and finally figuring out my own life.
